I've never blogged before, so bear with me if this gets a little rough. I tend to be a rambler sometimes which could be a good thing or bad when it comes to blogging. I'm not really sure, but we'll find out. I am preparing to leave on the early morning of June 4, just two short weeks away. In the meantime, I'm busy grabbing coffee with friends and family to see them before I leave, so if you want to hang out before I go, just holler! I'd love to see as many people as I can:) If you are interested in learning more about the Focus Leadership Institute and what I will be doing exactly this summer, here is a link to their site...

Basically I will be attending classes for the first few weeks to prepare me for my internship in the Counseling Practicum with Focus on the Family. I've never taken a summer class, so this will be interesting for sure. Growing up in West Michigan, there was no exposure to mountains. However a couple summers ago I drove out west to California with friends and was completely love struck with the mountains out there. This may cause some distractions from my work that I'm supposed to be doing for classes considering the views that I will have from my apartment in CO Springs... oh well, right?
Please continue to pray for me as I am preparing to leave my loved ones here for two months. I've become more of a homebody, so this is quite a stretch. But I know that God has amazing things planned for me out there, and I don't want to be held back from something that could be life changing. A peace of mind as I begin to pack and say goodbyes would be great starting right now God, please and thank you :)
Jill, thanks for sharing this blog with me! I'll look forward to hearing about your experience as it unfolds.
